May 27, 2023 — FAST Fencing at Japan Fair!
In late May, ten FAST Fencing members attended the annual Las Vegas Japan Fair in Chinatown to promote our cause and awareness of mental health issues in Nevada! Our diligent workers helped set up our booth and also managed it the entire day. Free demos were offered to those interested in fencing. Participants fenced one of our nationally competitive athletes to experience the true athletic and mental aspects of the sport.
August 1-5, 2023 — Fencing Camp with Italian Olympians!
Our fencers at Las Vegas Fencing Academy had the amazing opportunity in August to fence with many great international fencers and coaches from Future Champions. Their wonderful staff included Vittoria Siletti (Italian junior national team and World Champion gold medalist), Kosmas Karakolis (FCC épée team manager) and Andrea Santarelli (Italian Olympic team and World Champion gold medalist!) Those who were interested in this once-in-a-lifetime chance but could not afford it were given scholarships courtesy of FAST Fencing to fulfill their fencing goals! We appreciate all of our members and fencers who put an incredible amount of work with this sport and continuously show passion.
June 3-7, 2024 — GP Fencing Camp!
In preparation for Summer Nationals, fencers at Las Vegas Fencing Academy had the opportunity to train with world-class athlete Samuel Gallagher Pelletier from Canada! Over a period of 5 days, athletes had a great time as they honed their skills with drills, video reviews, and open bouting throughout the week.
June 23, 2024 — In-House Competition!
FAST helped sponsor Las Vegas Fencing Academy’s in-house fencing tournament by sponsoring young fencers to compete at the local level! Through our donations and the support of our student-volunteers, we additionally provided complimentary snacks, beverages, and prizes for the medalists! We hope to encourage our young athletes to further their passion of competing through more local, regional, and eventually national tournaments.
January 10, 2025 — OWN IT Wellness Event!
One of our very own FAST athletes was able to attend a wellness coaching event to educate the future leaders of the world. With this event, our athlete learned the importance of how movement impacts both the mind and body, overall improving our FAST program. Additionally, our athlete was able to make integral connections with other mental health leaders in the Vegas community.
April 19, 2025 — Wellness Kit Charity Event!
FAST gathered student-volunteers all over Las Vegas to assemble Wellness Kits that included fitness tools to be distributed to local community centers. With this initiative, we were able to assemble over 100 bags and collect donations to support our cause. We thank all of our volunteers who showed up to help make a difference.
June 3, 2025 — Project 150 Donation and Collaboration!
With the donation kits made by our volunteers in April, FAST was able to donate several athletic wellness bags to highschoolers in need. We are extremely excited to collaborate with Project 150 and hope to kick start the 2025 summer and upcoming school year with many more athletic opportunities for young students in the Vegas community!
